Staying on Track During Crawfish Season

We are in full swing with crawfish boils and what’s not to love, corn, potatoes, crawfish, sausage, and seasoning galore!

So let’s cut to the chase, and our advice during this fun time is pay attention to your hunger and fullness cues. The one thing we see missing from these boils is non-starchy veggies but no worries, we still consider this part of the 80% when looking at 80/20. So let’s take it back to the idea of staying mindful. Our pro tip during this season is to eat until you are about 80% full, wait a few minutes by chatting with party guests, refilling a drink, or just taking in the energetic atmosphere.

If you’re still hungry go back in for what you want, but if not step away from the table. So often we hear guests saying that they overate at big events and this is one way to help prevent that overly stuffed feeling. Along the same lines stay mindful of your alcohol intake as well. Start strong with a glass of water and alternated your beverages to keep you hydrated.
