Nothing warms our hearts more than a bowl full of veggies graced with cheese! Dairy is a great protein and fat source to help absorb the nutrients coming from the low calorie veggies. Seafood is one of those foods that you’re either all on board with or can’t stand (likely from the smell or texture most of the time). So just like you would feed a child, multiple reintroductions are key to expand your palate.

Fish can be an intimidating protein to cook but it’s quite the opposite if you set yourself up for success. With a desired internal temperature of 145 degrees, fish can bake quickly depending on the thickness so the first and most important tip we have when baking fish is to make sure all of your pieces are about the same thickness. The second tip is to take a few shortcuts with side dishes to let your full attention be on the fish. Many of us dabble with salmon and shrimp but have you ever wandered outside of that realm? Head to our meat and seafood counter to try a few of these recipes that you can whip up in under 20 minutes.

Eggnog can be a delicious treat this time of the year.  Why not try adding it to your morning oatmeal for a little holiday in an otherwise ordinary breakfast!  If dairy is not your thing, no problem.  We even used Califia Farms Holiday Nog, which is a non-dairy version.  We also bumped up the protein by adding in a little protein and some walnuts.  Those are also ingredients you can adjust to your preference, such as using pecans instead of walnuts. You can also try stirring in some yogurt for extra protein and probiotics.  It’s a versatile and easy way to get your day off to a great start!
