National Registered Dietitian Day
To our team of Registered Dietitians and all others in the profession, ‘Happy National Registered Dietitian Day’!
Did you know that we employ Registered Dietitians? It’s true! We love bringing the best care to our guests by offering a unique setting where you’re not just shopping for groceries, but your health. Do you know the difference between a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist? Anyone in the state of Texas can call themselves a nutritionist, no knowledge or testing required. But, a Registered Dietitian must obtain a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in nutrition, apply for an internship where there is currently a 49% match rate, successfully complete a 1200 internship and pass their national board exams. Not only that but by 2024 they will all require a Master’s degree in nutrition. Our Registered Dietitians are smart cookies because they are one step ahead in the game and already have theirs.
In the store, you can find them putting on health and wellness events, leading grocery store tours, cooking demos, product sampling, and helping our guests find better-for-you products. You can also find them out in the community bring their message of health to the forefront by guest lecturing, giving presentations to businesses, on a news segment, participating in a health fair and so much more. Our Dietitians wear many hats in our United family and the value they bring is immeasurable.
