While it’s still chilly here in Texas. There are quite a few things in season and ready to grace your plate from salads to hot meals to breakfast. Here are just a few of the fun flavors in season:
- Beets
- Try the nellie’s pickled beets in a cup
- Roast them in the oven and puree with chickpeas to DIY hummus
- Turnips
- Shave it in your next salad
- Cut them into fries and bake
- Broccoli
- Roast these on 450 with olive oil, salt and pepper for 15-20 minutes
- Cook however you like and sprinkle with parmesan cheese
- Lemons
- Zest it on anything & everything
- Juice it on anything & everything
- Oranges
- Marinade with rosemary and chicken thighs
- Slice and put in hot water with a squeeze of honey, cinnamon stick and star anise
- Grapefruit
- Squeeze on top of salmon after cooking
- slice it on top of salads
