Chai Scones
Warm fall spices with a warm cup of your favorite coffee or tea are a terrific way to treat yourself at breakfast this fall.
What You Need
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. White Sugar
- 3 tsp. Cinnamon
- 4 tsp. Ginger
- 1 tsp Cardamom
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Cloves
- 6 Tbsp. Butter, cubed into pea sized pieces
- 1 ½ c. Milk
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 2 tsp. Vanilla extract
How It’s Made:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine all dry ingredients
- Combine butter into bowl and mix with fork to pastry cutter to create soft dough balls throughout mixture
- In a separate bowl, combine all wet ingredients
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and combine until just incorporated. Do not overmix
- Scoop out ¼ mixture per ball onto a baking sheet
- Bake for 25 minutes
